Hire a car with a local driver in Ha Giang

Not riding yourself? A car with an experienced local driver is the safest and most comfortable way to see Ha Giang — especially with children, older travellers or a slow 5–7 day plan.

What you get

  • A licensed local driver and car for the whole trip, through a licensed transport provider.
  • A day-by-day plan made for your dates, pace and group.
  • Homestay suggestions along the way; if you like, we message the owners to check rooms. You book and pay them directly.
  • Help on WhatsApp or Zalo throughout the trip, in English or Vietnamese.

Who it suits

  • Families with young children or older travellers.
  • Anyone without a valid motorbike licence, or who would rather not ride mountain passes.
  • Slow trips of 5–7 days, including Hoang Su Phi off the Loop.

How it works

  1. Send the form with your dates, group size and wishes.
  2. We reply with a suggested plan and a price from a licensed transport provider, usually within 1–2 days.
  3. Before you confirm, you receive the provider's name, the vehicle and the driver's details.
  4. You pay the provider for the car and the homestay owners for your rooms, directly. Ha Giang 23 does not sell tour packages and never takes payment.

What to check with any driver

  • A licensed transport or travel business, not an informal arrangement.
  • A written agreement that names the driver, the vehicle, the route and the stops.
  • The same driver for the whole trip.
  • Seatbelts that work and a well-maintained vehicle.
  • No alcohol, and no driving the passes after dark.
